This Is Why Your Skincare Routine ISN’T Working!
hey guys welcome back to my channel and happy friday today’s video is highly requested a lot of you guys have been asking me and dm’ing me jen why isn’t my skincare routine working so many things might be the reason why and it could be just a little tweak in your skincare routine that could be making the biggest difference if you are experiencing sensitive skin you’re breaking out or maybe the things that could be affecting your skincare routine is you’re not thoroughly removing your makeup one of the best ways to do this and to clean your skin of makeup dirt and bacteria is using a cleansing balm one of my favorites is the belief aqua balm makeup removing cleansing balm it’s more than just a cleanser it has oil which helps break down waterproof makeup and mascara there are a lot of foam cleansers gel cleansers makeup wipes but most of the time they don’t thoroughly take everything off this mom leaves no oily residue behind my skin feels completely refreshed so there’s no need to double cleanse and that is a huge bonus i take a small amount of mom and warm it up in my hands until it’s melted into a lovely oil and then i apply this all over the face it’s super gentle feels nourished and once i rinse and pat dry the skin is not oily or sticky at all just clean and very smooth next up you haven’t detoxed your skin a solution to this is using a pore clay mask one of my favorites is using the oula hendrickson cold plunge poor mask it’s a detoxifying cooling clay mask that instantly reduces the look of pores it smooths out the skin and texture and controls oil all day so if you have acne or blemish prone skin adding a clay mask to your skincare routine weekly can help significantly this mask for me personally is great when i feel like there are some breakouts happening in my t-zone around my chin area a fun fact about this mask is that it has alpine willow herb and snow lotus which is antioxidant rich botanicals that have adapted to thrive in extreme cold so it helps smooth mattify and refine the pores i just apply this with a plastic face mask brush very simple and easy a thin layer and for me i like to also steam while the mask is on this gives it the most amazing detoxifying effect i love steaming my masks because i feel like it just makes the mask work so much harder and my skin literally feels so much better afterwards i usually steam my face for about one or two minutes and once i’m done that i’ll rinse with cool water i also love my black face mask cloth because it doesn’t stain any of my white towels and it rinses off really nicely and i just throw it in the wash and it comes out super clean moving right along you don’t use spot treatments a solution to this is using a tea tree oil or ointment for acne prone skin there’s a misconception that if you have oily skin you have to wash it way more or more times during the day but sometimes what your skin might actually need is a spot treatment i love the one from thursday plantation this is great for people who have sensitive skin next up you need consistency a solution is to maintain a routine if you want to keep it super simple cleanse tone and moisturize another thing you may not notice is your products do expire this little icon on the back of all these bottles that i’m going to show you say that this is good for 12 months after opening so make sure that your products are not expired when you’re using them you guys know how important it is to stay hydrated but drinking eight glasses of water a day can be pretty boring so what i love to do is add electrolyte tablets to my water this one is from noon and it’s the immunity tablets it has a kinesia it has lots of vitamins minerals potassium calcium the list goes on and i really do enjoy drinking these especially after a workout and jeff loves them too and the last i want to share with you guys is sleeping one of the most important things for your skin is getting enough sleep and i’m sure this is a very generic tip but all the time i find it hard to sleep at night because i’m thinking a lot i have anxiety i’m thinking about henry so one of the things that i’ve been doing recently is using the headspace app and listening to their sleep class this is the rain day antiques this is a free one you can listen to i keep this on at night time and i just blissfully fall to sleep the narrator for the sleep cast has a very calming voice and it also has the option of giving you this rainy rainforest type of ambience in the background which together just puts me to sleep so if you’re having
