Soothing & Repairing Korean Nighttime Skincare Routine (NEOGEN, Some BY Mi, & More!) | #SKINCARE
hi everyone i am back in my bathroom which means that i’m doing another skincare routine tonight it is a nighttime skincare routine and i’m using all korean skincare products these are products that i feel like are pretty easy to get i’ve seen them on amazon i saw them on yes style and i saw them on a few other retailers so i feel like this will be a really good korean skincare routine that a lot of people will have access to all right so what makes a korean skincare routine different from other skincare routine not that much these days i feel like everyone’s really hopped on the double cleanse people are really into the soothing ingredients and the products are just going to really hydrate your skin i feel like that’s really the core of korean skin care in korean skincare i haven’t found too many retinol type products for instance they have the vitamin c’s and the ahas and the bhas and even the phas but you don’t really see a lot of retinol and i think that’s the biggest difference between more of a western nighttime skincare routine versus a korean nighttime skincare routine or even just an asian skincare routine in general so tonight it’s really about just soothing my skin hydrating my skin making sure it’s clean skin you can see i have you know like my brows a little bit of mascara i only have some tinted sunscreen on so it’s not really thick but it’s still sunscreen and it’s still hard to break down i have a little bit of a lip balm on so i just need to get that off of my skin so i’m going to start with a double cleanse just so you guys know i have all of these baby hairs these are all new growth post pregnancy and they’re at a point where i just i can’t really control that so we’re gonna bear with it and deal with this mess that i have going on anyway so i am going in first with the i’m from fig cleansing balm yes this has fig in it i’m not really sure of too many of the benefits of fig but they’re using fig in a lot of different ways they have fig water in here which is used as a solvent they also have enzymes in here you can see i’ve been using it i’ve used it a few times they have enzymes in here that also just really help break down dead skin cells but really what i like about it is this texture it is that sorbet silky texture that just melts down really easily in your hands that i love i feel like this one is just great for all skin types i can’t say that it’s that different from you know like a vanilla co or something but i like vanilla coat so of course i’m gonna like this it also has the scent of fig in it and it smells a little like a candle but i don’t mind it i kind of like it but if you don’t like that scent that like figgy figgy uh candle scent then you’re not gonna like it so people constantly ask do i need to use a first glance an oil-based cleanser if i’m only wearing sunscreen and the answer is yes i’m only wearing sunscreen besides some mascara i’m only wearing sunscreen but you need something that is oil-based to help break down that sunscreen and it’s very gentle and you can see you know like i just rode this on to my dry skin i’m gonna go over my eyes and it just starts to break it all down and i don’t expect this to clean all of my makeup off i just want it to break it down see and then after it breaks it down and i rinse it off i’m gonna go in with my second cleanse and there’s no tugging or pulling on my skin it’s very very gentle really quick i want to show you guys that it emulsifies i talk about this a lot it doesn’t have to be intense but you go in and you emulsify it and that helps with the cleansing process okay so you can see that my face is clean that’s because i went in with a second cleanse and i thought i was recording but i wasn’t i just went in and used this as my second cleanse it’s by sierras it’s their cleanse me softly cleanser this milk cleanser is really lovely i am obsessed with cleansers i try new cleansers like every single day i love them if there’s anything as far as like skincare goes that i i kind of like hoard it’s cleansers i’m obsessed with clutters whether it’s oil-based cleansers balms cream cleansers gel cleansers just any kind of cleanser i am i’m just always down to try it i love cleansers and i love you know like seeing all the different types of formulations that we can come up with because there really are just so many different combinations this one is nice because it has a low ph um it feels like you’re putting lotion on your skin and even if i were to like put it on my face right now and cleanse again which i’m going to show you guys so you can see it looks like a lotion my skin will not feel really dry so it really makes for a nice like morning cleanse too if you’re the kind of person that wants to have a morning clip but you don’t want to strip your skin this one is really nice and i love it now that we’re getting into the colder months and you know our skin starts to feel drier you want that lower ph because your skin is healthier when it’s at a lower ph and a little bit more um acidic and it also just has nice soothing ingredients in it they talk about like plant surfactants i don’t know if that really makes it that much better than other types of surfactants but what i do know is that this feels like i’ve got lotion on it it cleanses away nicely and doesn’t leave a film on your skin and it doesn’t feel stripped and it doesn’t bother my eyes that’s actually with both of the products that i just used the cleansing balm doesn’t bother my eyes at all it doesn’t feel really thick and like gunky in my eyes as i’m cleaning off my makeup and this doesn’t bother my eyes either it doesn’t feel tingly it doesn’t feel like it leaves anything in my eyes to bother so for people that are really sensitive to that you don’t want something that bothers your eyes i would say that both of the cleansers i just used definitely do not bother your eyes they just feel really nice so i’m gonna rinse this off okay so my skin is nice and clean it’s triple cleansed at this point which is not what i recommend for everybody it’s just that it just didn’t film it i don’t know what happened i am going to go in with more hydration and this is from neogen this is their probiotics youth repair mist i did a whole video about this collection and what i really like about the mist specifically is you can see it has at the top a little bit of oil and then it has the rest of the formula so you shake it up and spray it on your skin just like that to get the hydration i like when it has just a little bit of oil like that in it in a toner and a spray toner only because it really helps to lock in that hydration and moisture it’s not thick feeling at all like if you look at my skin like it’s just bouncy and it’s a nice light mist there are probiotics in it to help soothe your skin repair your skin barrier actually like strengthen your skin barrier there is niacinamide in here you know i love that there is glycerin there are ceramides it’s just a really nice really nice toner i like this one it does have a strong scent to it so if you don’t like fragrance you might not like that but i find this to be really nice this is the second bottle that i am opening up of this mist and it’s just nice to go into the rest of your skincare routine knowing that you’ve got this really nice hydrated like base to your skincare routine okay so since i am not going to use any type of retinoid in my skincare routine tonight because this is an asian a korean product skincare routine i’m gonna go in with this it is by some by me this is the aha bha pha 30 days miracles serum this is a really interesting product to me because it combines all of those different chemical exfoliators of the ahas it has glycolic acid and lactic acid and a few other types of ahs but then it has bha in it which is otherwise known as salicylic acid and it has pha in it and pha is really interesting to me right now because i don’t really think of it as an exfoliator yes it does gently gently exfoliate that top layer of your skin but it has such a large molecule to it that doesn’t penetrate too deeply what i like about phas and what i’m really interested about them right now is that they’re really hydrating for the skin and they also help with the aging process they really help you age a little more gracefully and that’s what i’m trying to do is age gracefully and we know with bhas it is oil soluble it helps to break down you know any of the gunk that’s in your pores if you have you know like closed comedones that’s what bhas do they really get into your pores and unclog your pores and then you need the brightening from the ahas and the pha i mean i think that’s really just the hydrating and that aging gracefully one thing if you are new to exfoliating acids like this um then i recommend that you let this dry down a little bit because if your skin is damp this is just going to work harder for you which is what i want it to do but for some people you might want to ease into using a chemical exfoliator so let this dry down a little bit more and then add this to your routine so you have to shake it because it’s a mix of stuff there’s also they say tea tree oil water what’s kind of interesting about this as you can see look at that they’re really pretty little beads of oil in there it’s so pretty and it’s got a little green tint to it so the texture is very watery at first it has like the oil to it as well so when you put it on it feels really soothing there’s centella aziotica in here too asiatica so it helps to soothe your skin i think it’s a really good combination exfoliant for people because it’s going to soothe your skin but it’s going to also exfoliate your skin in lots of different ways when you have these combination exfoliators the purpose of it is that you’re just getting lots of different layers of exfoliation gentle exfoliation and brightening of your skin so i’m going to bring that down off camera i’ll go in this way get a little bit deeper another thing to point out about this which i think is very interesting for a chemical exfoliator is that it has a ph of 5.
5 which is really a comfortable ph for your skin that’s where you want it to be it means it doesn’t exfoliate too deeply and you’re not going to feel like a harsh tingle to your skin so this is a really nice one even for people that are beginners to chemical exfoliators you might really like this one because it doesn’t feel bad it doesn’t feel it doesn’t feel spicy at all it’s just very gentle on the skin next up i forgot to tell you guys this is kind of like a soothing repairing skincare routine i mentioned it i’ll mention it in the in the title of this video but something you’ll notice about this is that it is a very reparative skincare routine it’s perfect for right now in the colder weather which is why i’m going in with this now it is by make prem i think that’s how you say the brand this is their i did the known i dipping them again i dipped on i don’t know if i’m saying it right but this is their lifting ampule and the reason why i wanted to show this is because it has five different ceramides in it and i talked to you guys all the time about why you need ceramides in your skincare routine to repair your skin especially now that we’re getting into the winter but for people that you know feel like they’ve got oily skin or they don’t want to use something too heavy it’s really hard to find a ceramide product that’s not going to be too heavy so i wanted to show you this because let me show you this texture it is not too heavy it’s almost like a very light lotion so you can put this on i’m gonna actually give myself a couple little layers and it feels like i said it feels like a light lotion see almost like for me it’s like a serum but for some people it might be like a lotion so it’s just repairing my skin it has a brightening ingredient as well but really what i’m loving about this is it’s it’s just soothing it helps to repair your skin barrier but it’s not some heavy heavy cream so for some people you might stop at this step in your routine you might be like that is plenty of moisture for me then your skin might feel nice and plump and repaired and everything locked in then that’s fine when you stop at this step in your routine you do not have to put on more but for me i always want a little bit more so i’m going to go in with a moisturizer after this but this is wonderful it repairs your skin barrier it helps to soothe and it helps to just replenish those ceramides that you need in your skin for your skin barrier and i love the way it feels and then i go in with this this is by holika holika this is their good sarah super ceramide cream and again this routine is all about repairing your skin restoring your barrier function and everything to just your skin just making it feel like it’s healthy so it has ceramides in it it’s nice and rich and creamy shea butter is one of the main ingredients so if you like to avoid shea butter you might not like this but i actually think that people should give shea butter a chance because it’s all about the way it’s formulated i think in a skincare product i tend to like shea butter especially when my skin is feeling really really dry so i’m just gonna take a little bit but you can see this is super creamy and it also has a ph of 5.
5 that’s the comfortable ph you want to be at where it just helps with your natural skin barrier function look at that it is thick and i like it again now that it’s getting cold and now that our you know skin is going to get a little bit drier for people that are wearing masks all day and you get home you feel like your skin is irritated these are really nice products to add into your skincare routine and they’re all just very reparative and this just feels so nice look at that glow and then finally also by helicoholica also part of that good sarah collection that they have this is just a lip balm it says petrolatum free you know what you can give me the petrolatum i know it works i like it but for people that are trying to avoid it this one is really nice i like it a lot smooth it’s really smooth that’s what i like about it the most and that is my korean nighttime skincare routine it’s a very soothing skincare routine very reparative if you have dry skin if you are feeling like you’re just getting a lot of irritation or something because maybe your skin’s getting kind of you know like chat from you know just like the cold or maybe being windblown or you’re wearing a mask a lot anything like that this is the type of nighttime skincare routine you might really like there’s nothing harsh at all even with the chemical exfoliant that i used that one still felt very gentle i feel like i’m ready to go to bed hydrated moisturized plumped and ready for sleep i’m so tired so i’ll talk to you soon find me on instagram susanura ask me any comments ask me any questions in the comments i’ll talk to you soon
