SO Much GOOD Skincare! But will this lipliner PLUMP your lips? Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sept 14 & 15
hello my friend are you ready for the next installment of the ulta 21 days of beauty this is for monday the 14th and tuesday the 15th oh my gosh so many products so much skincare let’s go ahead and jump into it because this could be a long one all right let’s go ahead and scroll down and go into where is it monday the 14th okay so let’s start off with the stila stay all day liquid eyeliner i do own this and i am not a big fan the big reason why i’m not a big fan is because of this marker tip it just doesn’t bend to the eye very well that being said it does have a very fine fine fine point so that’s a good thing it makes it a lot easier to draw but because it doesn’t bend to the eye very well at least in my opinion i don’t really enjoy it that much it is very very black though so it’s it’s fine it’s just not my favorite it does come in quite a few shades which is different than a lot of liquid eyeliners a lot of them only come in black so that’s kind of cool the only thing to worry about here it’s not really a worry but some people are sensitive to parabens and this does have parabens in it another product that i’ve tried the lancome sils booster xl vitamin infused lash thickening mascara primer i love this stuff and i love it even more for half off if you’ve never used a mascara primer before the this one is kind of the gold standard of mascara primers in my opinion it lengthens and volumizes your lashes before you put on mascara now the only critique about this one is it is white so if your mascara you’re pairing it with isn’t black enough doesn’t have enough pigment in it sometimes it’s a little difficult to cover up the white you just kind of have to pair it with the right mascara but overall i mean it’s just a it’s just a really great product again this one does have parabens in it so be aware lots and lots of lip products are you wearing lip products right now are you wearing masks so you’re like forget it or are you wearing lip products i’m personally wearing some lip products around the house but when i go out i’m not really wearing a lot of lip products unless i’m gonna be kind of on my own away from people but these might be nice to get for maybe when we’re not wearing masks anymore my favorite ones here definitely the frog prince lipstick i may re-up on this i bought this many years ago and i absolutely loved it it’s you can see here when you look at the lips this is the actual color of what it looks like once it goes on the lips even though it looks green and it’s just a fun lipstick it’s very moisturizing hydrating just feels really good on the lips probably more moisturizing than hydrating there’s some mango seed butter there’s some meadow foam seed oil some sunflower seed oil and most of the lipstick queen lipsticks have pretty much the same formula but one thing i wanted to mention that i thought was really cool is they do have some minis down here where are they where the minis right here like the highway 66 there’s a mini which might be cool if you wanted to try lipstick queen’s formula without having to buy the full size oh here’s a frog prince mini that’s cool just a heads up on the primer it does have pretty much the exact same formula as the regular lipstick it does have a little bit of color that it changes to when you put it on it’s just a very soft wash of color is what it looks like i wish they had a little model picture there like they did on the other one but that’s something i’m actually interested and possibly picking up just a heads up the only lipstick queen lipstick that isn’t the same formula is this sinner one and i have tried this formula it’s just more opaque is what it comes down to the buxom plumpline lip liner okay a lip liner that plumps your lips i’m not so sure about that okay it does have 20 colors and when you go down to the ingredients the main ingredients to keep an eye out for beeswax because it’s not um it’s not vegan and then soybean oil cause i know some people are allergic to soy there’s also jojoba oil and there’s squalene in here which is a really nice ingredient to balance the skin there’s also one peptide in here it’s right here and this is the skin plumping thing that’s in there it’s a collagen fragment so theoretically it could sink down into the skin and trick the skin into thinking that collagen is broken down and that it’s time to create more now this ingredient is always below the one percent line so that isn’t a clue as to whether or not it’s gonna work in this lip liner and i’m not a cosmetic chemist so i don’t really know but if it did actually do that that would be something that would probably have to take effect over time and this is just a lip liner and i’m imagining that people wouldn’t be using this every single day as skin care i i would really appreciate this ingredient more in like a lip balm that you might put on before bed every night then maybe you might see some effects but i don’t know i mean it just looks like kind of a pretty traditional lip liner formula except for that i mean it’s not bad it’s just i don’t know if i would buy it for the plumping effects of it potential plumping effects all right you all know how i feel about oprah liquid lipsticks i did do a collab with ofra with some liquid lipsticks unfortunately those are not available during the sale they’re not available at ulta they’re only available on ophra’s website but i do love this formula the reason why i personally love it is because it does dry down pretty well not a hundred percent but i would say probably 90 95 dried down and it’s very very very comfortable that’s one thing i heard in the reviews of my product over and over again that i did with ofra which is the same formula as these that it is so so incredibly comfortable for a liquid lipstick there are 34 shades available for the sale my favorite shades just as a note are americano pasadena and unzipped they do have kind of a vanilla cake like scent it is a pretty typical liquid lipstick ingredient list there is aroma in there which probably means fragrance that’s what i would imagine it is right here but um so just kind of keep that in mind that’s probably that vanilla scent i’m just a big fan of ofra lip products in general so i do also love their lip glosses they’re very smooth they’re more of an oily feeling rather than a sticky goopy kind of feeling they feel very nice and the colors are beautiful this icy lavender one really is icy though just a heads up my favorite shades here are the clear uh the cherry mocha and the natural those are my three favorite colors i do have a lot of these they’ve sent me a ton of them in pr to try so i’ve tried a lot of the shades the flexi slick is really fun i like this formula a lot but it is a bit heavier than their other formulas imagine a liquid lipstick and a lip gloss kind of fused together so it’s got kind of a slip of a lip gloss but with the opacity of a liquid lipstick so this one definitely is not transfer proof it’s not meant to be like that so you just kind of have to decide whether this formula might be right for you or not i personally really like it it does have a french vanilla kind of fragrance and my favorite shades here are buzz and slush that they have available for the sale now let’s get into the obnoxious amount of skincare that is in these days oh my gosh it took me forever to look through this stuff this is the only one on this day but oh my gosh the next day so much skincare okay let’s start with strivectin this stuff is really expensive obviously so you’re gonna be paying about 50 bucks during the sale for 1.
7 ounces the peptide tightening and brightening face serum so going down to the ingredients the base is water glycerin and emollient so that’s gonna pull some of that water into the top layer of your skin and it’s gonna hold it in very nicely there’s this one ingredient here called myristal nicotinate that is a derivative of niacinamide it’s an oil soluble version so it was specifically developed to deliver the actives of niacinamide into the skin without causing that flushing and irritation that someone has some people have with niacinamide so definitely note that if you are sensitive niacinamide talk to your dermatologist about possibly using this particular ingredient instead and this ingredient is noted specifically to enhance cell turnover and strengthen the skin’s berry it’s a really nice ingredient there’s also some good antioxidants like cockadoo plum right there that is the cockadoo plum there’s also rosemary leaf extract there’s some humectants in here like glycerin and butylene glycol and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid there’s also peptides and ceramides those are great for encouraging production of collagen and elastin the only critique i have is the same critique i have of like an it cosmetics product there’s way too many ingredients so you don’t really know where the one percent line is how much there is of each ingredient so it’s possible that this could be doing some amazing things and based on the reviews people seem to really really love it so chances are there’s there are some really good actives in here i forgot there’s also rice bran extract in here that’s a good one too the only other critique is that there are fragrances way down at the bottom so if you are not a fragrance person you’re gonna throw this one out but i mean it does look really nice it’s just we don’t know which are the actives that are in enough concentration in order to be effective but there’s so much good stuff in here i would imagine there’s something doing something good and then the exuviance reverse total correct plus sculpt anti-aging serum this is kind of the opposite in ingredients very very simple here in the top we have water and propylene glycol which is a humectant that’s going to pull that water into the top layer of your skin there’s acetylglucosamine here that encourages cell turnover it’s skin brightening and it’s really great paired with niacinamide but you notice there’s no niacinamide in here which i thought was kind of interesting glycerin which is another humectant that we’ve talked about a little bit earlier the ascorbyl glucoside here that’s a more stable version of vitamin c it is a good antioxidant but it isn’t the best at evening the skin skin tone unless it is paired with niacinamide so i don’t know if it paired with the acetylglucosamine if that is a good pairing to help with the skin evening but i guess it is a possibility the only other thing that i wanted to mention was the acetyl tyrocinamide and that one has some studies that suggest that it’s a good skin firming ingredient and then there’s arginine one more last one arginine and that one is a good antioxidant so this one is a lot more simple um i wish that they had put some niacinamide or some kind of niacinamide derivative in there that would pair well with those to encourage those other ingredients to definitely have some effects but again the reviews are really good on this so you just kind of have to take what i said talk to your dermatologist or other professional that is not me i am not a professional in this area and see if this might be right for you i feel like it’s a lot to bank on a maybe that’s just me moving on to tuesday our only cosmetic product is the benefit boeing cakeless concealer i have never tried this definitely let me know in the comments down below if you have tried it and especially let me know what you think about the shade range of this it looks pretty good as far as the gradient here based on the website but the website isn’t always necessarily representative of what actually is happening in store the ingredients here are mostly silicones and pigment so that’s pretty typical for a full coverage concealer and that’s what the reviews say is that it’s thick and it’s full coverage and it blends well but some people are complaining of caking and i would imagine that’s because of all the silicones in here only thing to note as far as ingredients is the bismuth oxychloride this is kind of a scratchy pearl colored pigment and it does irritate some people’s skin because it kind of can get stuck in the pores and cause irritation so if that’s you if you’ve had issues with irritation with that ingredient that is there and i think that’s the only time we see bismuth oxychloride today so again if you have tried that please let me know in the comments below because i’ve never tried that product all right crepe erase i remember my aunt and my grandma talking about crepe erase they were like um infomercials or something on grape breaks and they were like oh my gosh i have to get this let’s see if you actually do have to get this this is the advanced body repair treatment so this is a 10 ounce product this thing is huge it is gigantic so keep that in mind when you’re looking at that 79 price and of course the half price my only thing about this that i really want to mention is that olive oil is the second ingredient so it’s probably in pretty high concentration there were some studies done when they were looking at adding olive oil to baby products to moisturize baby skin and they found that over time when they applied the olive oil directly to the skin in the same place that it did break down the skin’s barrier so if you do get this this may not be something that you would want to put on every single day because i would hate for your skin barrier to get broken down when you’re just trying to moisturize it that being said it is a good antioxidant and a good antibacterial and it is a good moisturizer there’s also cocoa seed butter in here and coconut oil those are ova here and here so if you don’t like coconut oil keep that in mind there’s also some ingredients in here that will help prevent trans epidermal water loss there’s some grape seed oil which is a great antioxidant there’s squalane in here which is an ingredient i love to see in skincare and that’s because it does mimic your sebum to balance the skin so if you do have oily skin on your body this may be great for that it’s also an antibacterial so that’s also good for acne prone skin it’s a moisturizer it’s an antioxidant and also might fight free radical damage so that’s really good this actually looks like a really nice hydrating product with antioxidants so and you get a huge amount so i think it looks pretty good and then we have the intensive body repair treatment this is another very moisturizing ingredient but the olive oil is a little bit further down so personally i would probably get this one if you were looking for more for dry skin and the other one if you were looking for more for oilier skin for antioxidant antibacterial purposes so let’s talk about this one why it’s good for dry skin we have the shea butter we have the cocoa butter and we have the coconut oil and then the olive oil down here because olive oil is in less of a concentration and the study was done on straight olive oil again i’m not as worried about this one as i was the other one there’s also an ingredient that i was surprised to find is actually pretty interesting and there’s some research research behind it and that’s the dill extract they say that it can improve skin’s resiliency and work as an antioxidant and it also has a calming action if your skin is sensitized or irritated so i thought that was kind of neat and then this here is called blue mallow flower all right i don’t know why i said that’s so slow like it was hard to say it may have some skin soothing properties and it also might have some antioxidant benefits again you’re getting 10 ounces here so i think this looks like a really nice product for very dry skin and then secondary as someone with anti-aging concerns it could help a bit there as well oh we do have a little more makeup that’s right the cover fx setting powders okay so i have this one i have the perfect setting powder and i really like it it’s very finely milled i feel like it sets my makeup really nicely and i do have normal skin the ingredients are pretty typical they all have green tea in them which is a great antioxidant so that’s kind of cool that that’s in all of them i don’t know how much it’s actually doing within the powder but i think it’s nice to have it in there the matte one here adds kaolin which will help absorb oil so if you have oily skin i would definitely say this one’s probably the one you want to pick the illuminating one the ingredients actually are really similar to the perfect setting powder the only difference is that they’re in a different order and then this one adds titanium dioxide so it may add more of a white cast so if you are a medium to deeper skin tone you may want to stick with this one with the perfect setting powder because i think this one might um you might have issues with it as far as it matching your skin tone well i guess they do have a deeper one as well but definitely don’t get the lighter one if you have a deeper skin tone um and and just know that there is going to be more actual color in that versus the first one which is probably more translucent and then finally let’s dig pretty deep into these three sets so let’s start with the proactive i’m gonna tell you right now i know that this has been marketed super gimmicky for a very long time but honestly this stuff looks really good for acne prone skin it’s just one of those things where you’re gonna have to keep using it the biggest critiques on this are that when people stopped using it their acne came back the things that these ingredients do it’s not a cure-all forever it’s it’s good it’s a treatment so the most important thing in here is this benzoyl peroxide there’s actually a lot of research behind this that helps remove excess oil and dead skin cells and it also helps kill acne causing bacteria this is a fantastic ingredient for acne prone skin there’s also some humectants in here there is this let me find it where is it this guy right here this one right here this is the chamomile extract and we did talk about this another day it’s an antioxidant skin soothing and then if you are allergic to plants in the daisy family definitely talk to your dermatologist before using this i do want to mention that there are parabens in here and also fragrance so if that’s not you this product is not for you moving on to the toner the toner looks really nice the number one ingredient in this is water so we don’t know how much water is in there which leads us to not knowing how much glycolic acid is in there that is an aha chemical exfoliator so that is going to help loosen up kind of the mortar between the bricks of your skin to help you slough off dead skin cells which is great for your skin just be careful and make sure that not just on the day you’re using this but for about a week at least after you’ve used this product make sure you’re continuing to use sunscreen to make sure you’re protected from sun damage because it can increase your photosensitivity there is witch hazel leaf extract in here which is stronger than the water so if you have bad reactions to witch hazel this is definitely not going to be for you the reason why witch hazel is such a popular product is it’s known to temporarily constrict pores making them less visible and potentially lessen oil production because it contracts the muscles that are underneath your pores but then it’s also accused of pulling water out of the skin causing it to be dehydrated and there’s also evidence that you become sensitized to it over time so people either seem to really like witch hazel or really hate witch hazel and because this is an extract this is going to be more potent so keep that in mind when you’re making your purchasing decision they also have that chamomile extract in here there’s aloe leaf juice in here which is skin soothing there’s rose hip fruit extract which is wonderful i love to see that in skincare it’s vitamin c it also has vitamin a which is retinol it also contains omega-6 fatty acids it’s a great anti-aging ingredient also might help with dark spots associated with acne scarring also in here you’ve got some good humectants to pull water into the skin and moisturizing ingredients as well but again we do have parabens in fragrance so yeah that’s a thing and then finally this one is probably the least interesting it does have the benzoyl peroxide we talked about earlier which is great for acne prone skin but other than that it doesn’t really have a whole lot of good stuff in there it’s mostly emollients to make your skin feel smooth there are a few humectants in here as well that help the skin stay hydrated and that’s actually really good for oily skin because if your skin is dehydrated it may think it needs to produce more oil to compensate for it so i’m glad to see some humectants in there honestly i feel like thirty dollars for three full-size products for this kind of ingredient list i think looks really good and if you have acne prone skin i think it looks amazing definitely talk to your dermatologist if you have any questions about it the sunday riley flash fix kit okay these are deluxe size samples so keep that in mind where the last one is full size these are deluxe samples so you’re not getting a ton but if you were curious about these products this may be a good way to try them the la the good jeans lactic you hardly get any of you get like not much but and i wish i could tell you that this looked like gimmicky junk but it actually looks really good the prickly pear extract there’s actually a good bit of research behind that it is a source of antioxidant compounds known as polyphenols and as a result it might reduce signs of irritated skin and also may be skin replenishing and hydrating then we have that blue agave extract it all does help encourage your natural production of hyaluronic acid to keep your skin hydrated another great thing and then we’ve got tons of antioxidants like the cactus extract and the yeast extract we have skin soothing ingredients like the aloe vera extract we have lactic acid which is a mild aha chemical exfoliator and then we have that squalane that mimics the sebum to balance your skin we talked about that a little bit earlier it just looks nice i just wish it wasn’t so stinking expensive oh my gosh ceramic slip is their cleanser there are a bunch of really nice mild cleansers in here some propane panadill which is going to help keep some of the moisture in your skin it just looks like a really nice cleanser so again i feel like this looks really nice i hate to see it i wish i could say that i think this stuff looks terrible but it does look nice and it’s expensive and it’s got good reviews for a reason because apparently it’s really really good and then finally we’re getting into the origin stop moving the origins cleansing and radiance boosting trio okay i’m just letting you know if you don’t like fragrance just exit out with this now like it’s just these are very very heavily fragranced in uh products at least the first two are so we’re gonna start with the checks and balances frothy face wash the second ingredient is lavender flower water which makes me so incredibly sad it’s like why why why why and there’s so many other ones oh my gosh like the whole like second half of the ingredient list is pretty much well i mean there’s other things in here but there’s a lot of fragrance in here you’ve got spearmint leaf oil so you can expect to feel a cooling feeling on your face when you use this which some people enjoy but it’s really very irritating to the skin and also your skin could come become sensitized to some of these fragrances over time that being said it does have some nice mild gentle cleansers in it you just have to decide whether it’s good for you or not oh and then there’s glycerin to pull some of the water into your skin which is nice to see but that that’s kind of i don’t know i wouldn’t buy it then let’s get into the ginseng oil-free energy boosting gel moisturizer there’s some good humectants in here there’s some silica to absorb some oil there’s niacinamide in here which if you are sensitive niacinamide of course this isn’t going to be for you but it really is a great ingredient for evening out the skin tone it’s great for anti-aging it’s great for acne it’s great for so many things and then all the way up here we start getting into all the citrus oils and the spearmint leaf oils like why why did you do it why and then after we go into all of these fragrances we finally get to the moisturizing ingredients the shea butter the jojoba butter uh you know it’s like come on man like really really and i didn’t mention this earlier but citrus oils could have some kind of level of vitamin c which is great because it’s a great antioxidant but they’re also highly acidic and they can irritate sensitive skin especially if it’s not formulated to a good ph for your skin they can also be skin sensitizing over time though there are some good moisturizing and hydrating ingredients in here this is not a purchase that i would make and then finally let’s talk about the eye cream probably the least defensive of all of them there are some good moisturizers and humectants but really no powerhouse ingredients that make me go yes like where are the peptides where is the caffeine for the under eyes uh that helps to with dark circles and depuffing where is the ceramides like that’s what i want to see none of that in here not as much fragrance in this one it is a relatively nice eye cream but i don’t see much that’ll brighten or de-puff as it’s advertised so that is it for these two days of 21 days of beauty i will be back in a couple of days to talk about wednesday and thursday i guess we’ll be back on tuesday talk about wednesday and thursday sales and then we got two more days left and then the sale is over oh so sad thank you again so much for watching mad love to you and i will see you in a video very very soon bye
