talking all things festive gift giving if you hadn’t already guessed by my jumper we are in the full festive mood here at mad about skin and i’m going to be giving you my top tips for gift ideas for the holiday season whether it’s something that you want to gift someone for christmas maybe you want some inspiration for things you could add to your own christmas list or you just want to treat yourself you know 2020 has been a difficult year for a lot of people and maybe you just want to treat yourself to a little bit of gift to end the year out i have got some fantastic suggestions some high-end boujee luxury items and some fantastically affordable yet gorgeous gift ideas at the drugstore to share with you i think skincare is a fantastic fantastic idea for a gift for the holiday season because actually you’re kind of gifting self-care it gives people an opportunity to try some new brands that maybe they wouldn’t have tried otherwise and also who doesn’t want to try product that’s going to make themselves feel better about themselves and just give us all a boost as we come into 2021 now before you all read me to filth and come from it and say come on it’s not even november yet why are we talking christmas and holiday gift ideas well actually there’s a few reasons a i am a complete and utter obsessive when it comes to christmas i would start in august if i was allowed my partner puts a firm embargo on christmas until we get well into november and so this is kind of an excuse for me to start celebrating a little bit early put my favorite sweater on and by the way just a total side note i’m gonna have to make this video quick because i realized this polyester blend number that i’m wearing is so so hot so i’m gonna keep this short and sweet and give you my favorite gift ideas i do also think now is a really good time to get planning and buying some things because with a lot of going on in the world at the moment there are some delays in terms of the postal services and getting items to you and there’s nothing worse than you ordering something and being panicked that it might come on time so take that panic out and maybe look into making a purchase a little bit earlier than usual to count for some of the delays that are going on i have got you covered with some fantastic ideas throughout this video i know some people say that commercialism you know has taken over christmas and the holidays and that’s not what this is about this is just sharing some really good ideas to hopefully inspire you in your gift giving i love love love to give gifts and nothing makes me happier and sees someone’s face light up when they open a gift so i don’t think it’s always about the commercialism it’s about giving and giving back to people it and talk about my favorite gifts for the holiday season now first off the obvious choice would be to give a gift set this is like being the staple for years and people go mad for a nice little gift set usually you get to sample a number of products all put together and you usually get a little bit of money off the price because you’re buying them all together however i will just caution before we start this i’ve had a little bit of a rum time in the past where i bought gift sets online and realized i was buying travel sizes rather than the full size and then it comes you think you’ve got a lavish gorgeous gift and a bargain to give to someone and it arrives and it’s minuscule and it just looks really cheap and nasty so i would just really caution you when you’re buying sets online to double check the sizes and make sure you’re getting more than just a travel size because i think you know when it comes to gift giving the travel sizes it doesn’t really impress anyone i like to get a really good bargain and find something that’s a really good value but for a full-size product and my go-to this year is going to be face theory i love face theory i did a whole review on their brand which i’ll leave a link to up there so check that out they are a beautiful beautiful brand you know vegan options which is fantastic they are cruelty free as are all of the options i’m sharing with you today so that’s just a super super way of making sure that your gift giving is a little bit ethical as well but they have some beautiful beautiful sets my number number one and i recommend you get this before it sells out is the vitamin superhero set here in the uk it used to be 65 pounds it’s now on sale at 30 pounds that’s better than a 50 saving and who doesn’t want that in their life in this set you get their vitamin c cleanser which is a holy grail of mine i love love love this product you also get their vitamin a their retinol moisturizer and you get their poor bright serum that’s full of niacinamide vitamin b3 fantastic closing those pores shrinking the size of your pores and bringing some clarity and luminosity to the skin this is the perfect gift for someone that’s kind of new to skincare or maybe wants to up their skincare game a little bit because in this you’ve got a cleanser you’ve got a moisturizer you’ve got a couple of active ingredients and you’ve got something which will control the size of your pores absolutely fantastic also face theory it looks super expensive but comes with a reasonable price tag for what you’re getting for the product so this for me is an absolute gossip when it comes to gift giving i think i’m gonna buy a couple of these i’m gonna give them to a few people i know who are just starting out on their skincare journey and i think will really benefit from trying out face theory from the same brand i’m gonna recommend the ultimate set this is like a skin lovers paradise this is gonna be on my skincare and wish list for christmas you know i’ve hinted very heavily to friends and family but you know who knows if they’re paying attention so hopefully they’re watching this video in my clock it and i might if i’ve been really good this year get this product the ultimate set has 10 of their game-changing fantastic products this comes in at 100 pounds here in the uk if you were to buy all of these products individually it’d be 180 pounds so you’re saving nearly 50 on the total cost of the individual products which is fantastic yes 100 is quite expensive it’ll come in at around 130 but for that special person in your life that you could literally treat to months a month worth of skincare and fantastic skincare at that this is a stunning stunning set why i like this is you’ve got the basics so you’ve got the cleansers you’ve got the moisturizers you’ve got some fantastic serums in there you’ve also got some of the bougie luxury items so you’ve got two great masks you’ve got a fantastic lip balm which i absolutely adore and they throw in free of charge a really nice washcloth that’s super luxury it’s organic cotton feels great and will just help you take off all that dirt debris and make your cleanser work that little bit harder i love this and the box that it comes in absolutely gorgeous this is like holiday ready and if anybody buys me this for christmas i will honestly be over the moon such a beautifully curated and well thought through set i absolutely love it now third and final and actually this is my last of the sets that i’m going to mention because i’ve been a bit underwhelmed this year because i’ve looked at loads of different sets i don’t find any of them really add that much value in terms of the saving that you get from just buying the products individually but one i really think you get a good value from is the ordinary balancing set i actually did a whole review on the balance set which i’ll leave a link up there this is a beautiful beautiful set that is super affordable it comes in at 25 pounds 30 so a great sort of mid-priced gift and in this you’re going to get something to tackle your blackheads and any breakouts that you get a fabulous cleanser gorgeous moisturizer and a serum so it’s perfect for someone that might have a little bit of breakout prone skin maybe something with a little bit of light acne this could be a great set for them it looks super gorgeous super expensive super luxury and yet is really really affordable and this could be a great gateway into what’s quite a trendy brand you know everybody’s heard of the ordinary they love to receive products from the ordinary and so this is a really nice curated package from the ordinary that maybe just helps someone who is new to the brand dip their toe into it a little bit i was really impressed when i tried it and definitely definitely is on my gift guide for this year now that’s it for the set and we’re going to move on to some other really great gift ideas i think you’ve got to be a little bit careful when it comes to skincare i love to give skincare because like i say it’s like gifting self-care to someone which is fantastic and we all need some time in our day just to you know focus on ourselves and skincare is a great way of doing that i think you have to be a little bit careful because you have to know the person and make sure that you’re not offending them by buying a gift or an item that is tackling a specific skin complaint that you think they will benefit from if they’re thinking reading me for my skin or vice versa so i think you have to be a little bit tactful sometimes and so actually a really safe option is a mask masks are fantastic because they’re treatments but also they’re super luxurious and they’re totally about me time you know you put a mask on and you take it to another world it’s a really nice luxury and so it’s kind of a safe yet fantastic item to give to someone in terms of skincare for the holidays and i have some gorgeous masks to share with you my go-to and i’ve been banging on about this all year and i’ve just run out so fingers crossed somebody buys me this for christmas because it’s definitely on my list and that is the summer fridays jet lag mask this is a great gift idea because summer fridays has taken instagram by storm i think it was one of the kardashians said i love the skincare brand and they just went into the stratosphere everyone was buying it so it’s a trendy brand but also it’s a fantastically well formulated brand their jet lag mask is super hydrating it’s got beautiful oils in there it’s also got nice cinnamide and some vitamin c in there so it’s going to brighten the skin clarify the skin and hydrate the skin i love this whilst i wouldn’t use this after i mean i haven’t flown for years thanks to what it seems like years but not just for the jet lag if you’re having one of those days where you wake up and you think i haven’t had enough sleep maybe my skin’s looking a bit and you want something to perk you up and give you that instant boost of radiance put this on for 10 minutes and your skin is gorgeous the packaging divine the price point is 20 pounds here in the uk 26 dollars in the us so a super affordable mask but that looks more luxury than the price tag would suggest and gives you those real results i always think if you’re gonna go for a mask get a mask with a purpose you know there’s all nice to have these nice aromatherapy masks but actually i want some active ingredients in there something that’s gonna deliver for my skin and this does in bucket loads i love it in a similar vein and let’s be honest no christmas gift list from this channel would be complete without a mention of neod which has been my absolute favorite skincare brand of the year but their flavanone mud mask this is something i will be gifting to people this year but also is firmly on my gift list i have requested this so often i don’t think you can ever have too many of these because i just love it masks with a purpose is what i’m all about and this honestly is the best face mask i have ever used and if you give this to somebody as a gift they will love you forever after about two uses when they realize how gorgeous it is for the skin the reason i love this is a the price tag comes in at 24 pounds here in the uk so it’s under 30 which is up there a little bit in terms of some masks but actually for the benefit you get and each bottle will give you around eight uses so that’s a really affordable price point per use why i love this is not only is it packed full of the things you’d expect from a mud mask you’ve got your amazonian clays in there you’ve got your bentonite clays and your kaolins to really absorb all of that dirt debris those excess oils and just give a really nice clarity to the skin but it works beyond that it is also packed full of antioxidants so it’s going to protect the skin and it also has precursors to oleic acid oleic acid is a naturally occurring acid in the skin and these precursors will naturally trigger the body to create more oleic acid which is going to give a gentle and light exfoliation so this product when you put it on is super calming super soothing feels beautiful 15 minutes later you wash it off it gives a light tingle which means it’s actually working and your skin looks stunning like zits shrunk in size your pores look like they’ve had the deepest clean you’ve ever seen and after about two uses your skin is glowing to the gods it is perfect perfect i would buy one now so you’ve got something to get into the party spirit with and have your skin looking gorgeous for the festive season but also buy a couple to give to people because if you give this to someone they will love you and their skin will love you forever now finally in terms of masks i’m going to come on to something which i would deem like a stocking filler let me know in the comments do you have this international this is just a uk thing stocking filler refers to those sort of like slightly cheaper products but just really nice extra little bonuses to open on christmas morning i absolutely love love love little things to open it maximizes the amount of gifts you can give because the price point is super low but they’re also just really nice fun things to open and my favorite sheet masks that will come into that price point are the saturday skin sheet masks they do about three different types and i love them all these are super trendy they’re really big on instagram at the moment you see quite a few celebrities endorsing them so people will love to receive them they also work really well they do a hydrating one they do a brightening one which is my personal favorite and they all have active ingredients in as well as some beautiful humectants to hydrate the skin and just after 10 minutes of wearing it your skin feels gorgeous here in the uk they come in at four pounds so they’re around six dollar price point so a really nice little extras to wrap up christmas morning or to share with people or to buy for yourself to get you in the holiday and the festive mood your skin will love love love these the only thing i would caution and i will call out on these is they do have some essential oils in there it gives a really nice room therapy quality to it they smell divine but if you have sensitive skin this might be one that you give a path to so think about who you’re buying for before you purchase these but for everybody else they are a gorgeous gorgeous find now we’ve done the sets we’ve done the masks and let’s move on to tools so skincare tools i i’m a bit skeptical about because a lot of them actually are a load of rubbish wasted money and over priced however there are some gorgeous tools on the market that i think are worth the price point and do add something to your skincare routine i have fallen hard for a couple which i’m going to share with you now i’m adding these to my christmas list because i already own them but there are some things that i’m thinking about gifting to other people and will be a great addition to your christmas list when you’re thinking of buying for others number one is the nurse jamie uplift tool now most people must have seen this this has been like a holy grail of mine and loads of other influences here on youtube for years it is beautiful it’s like a wand that you wave up and down the skin yeah it adds it’s for people who want to take their facial massage to the next level it is absolutely gorgeous you can keep it in the fridge so it’s super cooling it’s got magnetic energies in there that’s not something which i personally buy into but if you’re into your energies and your magnets this is an extra additional benefit to the product why i love it is it super gentle it gives you a really great additional massage beyond what you can get from your hands alone and if you put them in the fridge it’s cooling it’ll constrict all those blood vessels and any puffiness or discoloration you have in your skin this will tackle like that every morning i use mine and it’s absolutely fantastic here in the uk it comes in at 48 pounds so in the us it’s around the 60 to 65 dollar mark that’s not that bad for one of these tools you see them reaching like the 400 mark which is ridiculous for this a product which you can use time and time again super easy to keep clean and super easy to use i think is a really great mid-price gift that people will love it’s also looks fantastic in your bathroom and it’s the sort of thing that every time you use it you’ll think of the person that gave you the gift which i just think is an extra bonus and absolutely lovely in a in a similar vein but slightly cheaper coming in at 30 pounds here in the uk 35 in the us is the herbivore jade rollers now everybody’s heard of jade rolling it’s where you roll it up and down the skin and it’s supposed to give you that gorgeous calming cooling similar to the nurse jamie uplift but working in a slightly different way if you use this correctly it gives a beautiful lymphatic drainage so again helping with that water retention will tighten the jawline and just keep the circulation get the circulation moving so all of the products you put afterwards will work that little bit better this is a gorgeous gorgeous product there’s so many jade rollers out there but they’re not all created equally why i like this one is it’s perfectly smooth you need yours to be so smooth otherwise the abrasions could create micro tears or just damage the skin this is literally perfectly smooth it glides like a dream the mechanism needs to be fluid enough that it glides without any of it this there’s a technique when you’ve used one you’ll know if something glides smoothly it’s just a pleasure to use and this one really is and i love her before fantastic cruelty free gorgeous really ethical super super amazing company and this i think is one of their standout products looks fantastic in the packaging and anybody would be happy to receive this as a gift now i guess guys we have done the sets we’ve got ourselves some masks and gifted some gorgeous skin through masking and we’ve got some really great tools to choose from so how about my favorite individual products well this is where i always come a bit unstuck when it comes to skincare gift ideas i am always staying away from individual products because i think they can be quite personal to the person that you’re buying for and also it can be a little bit you know you’ve got to use your discretion to make sure that you’re not buying anything that might offend someone however i’ve curated some gorgeous gorgeous products i think anybody would be glad to receive and will transform people’s skin whatever their skin type my number one and i know loads of you are going to be screaming at the screen now because i mentioned this has been on my christmas list for like forever and that is the neod fractionated eye contour concentrate this is like an eye cream for the ages so all those times you’ve used an eye cream and it’s done it’s done a little bit for you but it’s not really transformed your eye area you haven’t tried this i actually think this is less of a gift idea and more something you might just want to buy for yourself for the holiday to treat yourself as we approach the holidays if you maybe you know as we go through the holidays you might drink a little bit too much maybe you indulge a little you don’t get enough sleep you’re parting too hard no actually in 2020 that might be a distant memory but whatever you do your eye might take a little bit of extra care and need a little bit more attention this is the product this has 28 different mechanisms of action like if you get that into your head 28 different ways that it’s benefiting the eye area it is fantastic in terms of the antioxidants that it has it will diminish the fine lines of wrinkles around the eye it will tackle puffiness and it will also constrict the blood ventricles to make sure that that discoloration you get under the eye is treated this i’ve recommended to so many people it’s up there in price you know you can get it for around 45 pounds so 55 price point and people say that’s a lot for an eye cream it is but an eye cream that actually works you need such a small amount to get the results so it lasts forever and do you know what this is the best eye cream you will ever ever use i felt hard for this and it’s on my christmas list and i think i’m going to treat a couple of people i really love to this product for christmas i’m going to give a huge shout out to jenny who’s a fantastic fantastic subscriber and supporter of the channel because i know she has been hinting heavily to her family that she wants this on her christmas list and what’s this wrapped under the tree ready for christmas so jenny’s sending you lots of love but also anybody would be glad to receive this product one use of this and they’ll be like wow why didn’t i have this in my life before a beautiful beautiful product another set of products which i love and in fact anything from this range will be gorgeous for christmas is from geek and gorgeous i did a whole review of the brand which i’ll leave a link to up there if you want to check it out but why i’m actually recommending from this particular brand is their exfoliators they’re trendy they’re cool they’re instagram friendly but they’re effective and that’s what’s really important they also come in at around the seven pound price point under ten dollars for a product that looks expensive looks luxury and everybody needs an exfoliator in their life i like their stay calm which is super super gentle suitable for all skin types so you buy that for someone and it’ll just up their exfoliation game bring back that glow and it’s a really fun gorgeous product to use so i’ve been my recommendation from that brand finally i’ve saved the best till last a few of you might guess what’s coming this is something which i was bought for christmas three years two years ago three years ago and i’ve used ever since and that is the aesop body wash anything from aesop looks gorgeous when you unwrap it it looks expensive even though you’re not paying super expensive prices for it it’s a luxury gorgeous item but something i’ve had on my christmas list every year for the past couple of years is the rose by any other name body wash by aesop i’ve raved about it on this channel before however this year i’m mixing it up they have a new one a geranium body wash i love the smell of geranium it’s absolutely gorgeous one of my favorite flowers and i’m adding that to my christmas list this year i’m mixing it up you know let’s change things about move from the rose to the geranium if it’s even half as good as the rose by any other name i will be sold and i think this is a gorgeous product that you could buy for literally anybody you know it’s super it’s neutral in that it is a body wash that everybody needs to wash their body so it’s applicable to everybody and it’s all skin types and the smell on the rose one is just divine for that person that you know loves a luxury bath product they like to soak in the tub and really like get rid of the day and all the stresses with a nice hot bath this is their like should be your go-to product one sniff
