Lancôme Advanced Genifique Anti-Aging Face Serum Review and How to Use
hi today i’m reviewing the lancome advanced genifique anti-aging face serum and really quick i just want to say purchase all these products with my own money i’ll never waste your time with sponsored ads or videos so if you want to help support the channel check out no bsbeauty.
com check my patreon community or click on the link below this is funny so this is one i’ve been meaning to review for quite some time and there was a glitch on one of the websites and i got this for like a ridiculously low price a lot of times with glitches they don’t honor them they honored this one i don’t know once in a while you get lucky there’s everyone that got that foreo master for like 9.
99 and they honored that but i missed out on that one that was sad because that thing’s like 200 a bunch of people got it for like 9.99 but once in a while you get the glitch and it works so okay lancome calls this an advanced anti-aging face serum with baphitis probiotic ingredients that target the 10 key signs of aging visibly improving radiance in just seven days and i’ve got a lot to say about this one so let me just start with packaging they’ve done a nice job with the packaging dropper bottle easy to find dropper bottle because it’s tall so no issues with that when we get to denatured or drying types of alcohol denatured alcohol is the fourth ingredient and it’s in this product enough where you can feel when you apply it like the lightness of it you can kind of feel it evaporating a little bit and setting really quickly so i’ve had torah i’m torn with denatured alcohol because i kind of have found if you sandwich it in between two other products that are very hydrating it can negate some of the uh effectiveness and dryiness of the alcohol in there but in general those with dry skin or sensitive skin or skin issues eczema things like that you’re better off avoiding it typically if it’s in the last you know third of ingredients it’s not much of a concern but when it’s very high up like the fourth ingredient it’s something to take note of and i’m sure someone will leave a comment that alcohol is not that bad and you know what i think it just depends on your skin type and if your skin can handle a lot of denatured alcohol there’s nothing wrong with that if you have sensitive skin and you prefer not to there’s nothing wrong with that either skin care is so individual although i still prefer not to see it in the very top list of ingredients unless it’s a product i absolutely love or find a very very good ingredient in there’s the laura posey liquid sunscreen that i love which has a lot of it in there which i will forgive them for that because that sunscreen is so great at filtering out certain rays and if i use it over a thick moisturizer it’s not as drying but anyway it’s just worth noting then when we get to fragrance this has not a ton of scent it’s not super noticeable it’s a very light citrus scent and it comes from limonene citronella and fragrance so uh three fragrance ingredients and of course when you see fragrance in there fragrance is any trademarked combination of up to 200 different chemical ingredients so keep that in mind although the scent for this one is very light and it didn’t bother me and my i’m prone to migraines with things that are very scented and this one did not bother me but certain other people might be more sensitive to it then we get to the manufacturing location this one’s made in france so no issues with that in terms of ease of use they recommend using it every morning and evening after cleansing apply it as the first step in your routine and it is super light which is nice i guess the alcohol has something to do with that but it smooths into skin very nicely and since a lot of it kind of just evaporates you don’t never have any issues with pilling or layering it with other products they say the dropper the exclusive self-loading dropper gives the perfect amount of serum i don’t know that’s just a normal dropper whatever that’s all marketing but i guess you want to use as little as you can when they charge as much as they do for this but anyway a little bit goes a long way it’s moves over skin nicely very easy to use no issues at all with that should i do a quick ph test for you guys i’ll do it i’ve kind of been getting lacks on that so i’m trying to remember to do them more often although there’s really not any total ph dependent ingredients in here but there we go the exclusive self-loading dropper so the ph of this one looks to be about five which is what most skin care products typically will be okay so then we get to antioxidants and beneficial ingredients and for something that’s advanced in anti-aging i would expect to see a little bit longer list but they’re really mainly going off this bifida ferment lysate which is in a lot of other products uh isn’t tree has a baphyta serum or a bifida essence uh misha has their time revolutions contains tons of it uh good skin days their moisturizer contains a large amount of that bifida which is a great uh ingredient uh it helps with uv induced damage in the skin also can help with dna repair it’s also in that estee lauder advanced um night repair serum so that’s one of their main ingredients studies have showed that it helps with better barrier function decreased skin sensitivity but why would you pick something that’s going to decrease your skin sensitivity with four ingredients that are known to increase skin sensitivity alcohol citronelle limonene and fragrance i don’t know but a lot of people love it so i’m gonna go with that then we’ve got a scorable glucoside which is a vitamin c derivative that some studies show has all the good three anti-aging benefits antioxidant protection collagen boosting and fading hyperpigmentation cerebral glucoside i’m not totally sold that it’s going to be better than elizorbic acid but it is a nice derivative of it although if you really have a lot of skin damage and really want something for anti-aging purell azorbic acid serum is the way to go in my opinion then we’ve got sodium hyaluronic which isn’t everything it’s a humectant adenosine a cell communicating ingredient then we’ve got yeast extract which is a good skin repairing skin conditioning ingredient then we’ve got sala cloyl photospheriocene i said that terribly let me just sound it out cello glycol phytosphinocene that any better it’s a skin conditioning ingredient with a very long name so uh it’s got some good ingredients in there um not super exciting ingredient list but still a decent one but there’s so many great super affordable k beauty products that have all of those in them and they’re like 1 100th of the price so keep that one in mind and they don’t contain as much alcohol so okay we get to my seventh criteria which is animal testing and lancome is not cruelty free so performance of this one i’m a little torn because when you apply it your skin looks hydrated it looks a little plump it sets to a natural finish it plays with other products if i use this several days in a row morning and night uh by like the third or fourth day my skin will be noticeably more sensitized to everything i put on it it’ll just sting a little bit burn a little bit and that’s when i use other products and not just this so i can use this for a couple days and not have issues but continuously my sensitive dry skin just gets unhappy but the nice thing is if you have acne prone skin there’s only one ingredient of question that’s dimethicone so that’s always a nice thing but performed okay just not continuously so then we get to the price so this is the full size i think they have like a super size of it this is one ounce 30 milliliters and retails for 78 dollars i think whatever price glitch i got this on it was like 25 or something so i’ll take it but for what you get it’s expensive in my opinion then we get to the it factor and if this were alcohol or fragrance free or alcohol and fragrance free i i would recommend this despite the price however in my opinion there’s too many skin sensitizers and pro aging ingredients for me to recommend this there are just a multitude of other products out there that are similar which are much more affordable without the negative ingredients so a lot of people absolutely love this one but in my opinion i’ll have to do a versus but if you if i to choose between this and the estee lauder advanced day repair serum hands down the estee lauder is much better lancome i guess that’s kind of their thing they always throw fragrance in almost everything so not what i was expecting but anyway with the 10 being a perfect score i gave this a 5.
so i don’t know i’m interested hearing from you because i’m sure a lot of you guys have had a chance to try this and if you agree with me or disagree or if you’re somebody that loves it and has repurchased it many times uh what do you love about it and do you notice any dryness or anything like that or what skin type do you have so uh definitely leave a comment i’m very interested in hearing from you guys so it’s been around for a while and a lot of people love it so i don’t know it’s got something going on i just couldn’t quite figure that one out i guess i might be brilliant but i’m not that brilliant i guess so anyway thank you guys so much and i will see you more tomorrow you
