Habits To Keep Your Skin Glowing & Flawless | 6 Common Skincare Mistakes You’re Making
I am a beauty fanatic, and I know that most of you are constantly trying out and experimenting with the newly launched skin care products. But as much of a pro that you are, there might be some skincare mistakes you’re guilty of making.
Some common ones that we all make from time to time are sleeping with our makeup on, not wearing SPF, drinking less water, neglecting our neck, tugging the face, and so on. So today, I am going to throw some light on the art of skincare and reveal some common mistakes that may be the only reason that’s keeping you from your dream skin.
A lot of us treat toner as a second cleansing step and use it by applying it gently with the help of a cotton pad. But when you properly cleanse using a face wash that’s suitable for your skin type, you don’t need to use a toner as a second cleanser to remove your dirt and makeup.
Instead try taking some toner onto your palms and gently press it onto your skin. This way, you don’t end up wasting a lot of the juice on your cotton pads. Using your toner in this manner will allow other skincare products to penetrate deep into the skin.
You can even just transfer it into a spray bottle to make this process quick and easy. We tend to indulge in new skincare products that claim to make our skin better but they won’t do much if you aren’t using them correctly.
One of the most common mistakes we make is not reaching the corners of our face while cleansing it. We end up focusing on areas such as our cheeks, under eyes, chin and nose over and over again while neglecting the other parts.
This leads to excessive dirt accumulation and clogged pores. Instead take a look at your skin and work on the smaller areas such as your jawline, forehead, the corners and sides of your face that most of us usually neglect.
You need to get all the makeup, dirt and gunk from all the corners of your face. Start paying attention to this routine and watch your skin get better fast. One of the biggest and most underrated deciding factors of the quality of your skin is hygiene of your bed.
Sleeping in sheets that haven’t been washed for over weeks will lead to the transfer of bacteria and dust on your skin. Laundry detergents that have a strong fragrance can also lead to irritation of the skin.
Another tip I’d like to include here is make sure you clean your cell phone from time to time as this will also contribute to the quality of your skin. Clean it once a week with rubbing alcohol to keep your skin acne free.
Sometimes, in the rut of religiously following our skincare routine, we tend to layer our medicated products with our usual ones. So, if you have an acne popping up on your face, the right way to wear your products is cleanse, tone and spot treat.
Do not apply serums and moisturisers over your medicated products. This does not solve the purpose of spot treatment. You need to let that area breathe, so that your acne dries out and your skin does not get clogged.
Simply, let it breathe. We usually are drawn towards skin care products such as skin brightening creams that claim to treat our dark spots and pigmentation. But if you want to get visibly good results try including a vitamin C serum into your routine.
This power packed nutrient is a complete game changer for your skin which will help brighten dull skin, if used religiously. It will also help fade dark circles and blemishes on your face. This anti-ageing ingredient gets rid of all the free-radicals too.
So, just one additional product can make a world of difference to your skincare routine. The environment we keep our products in is perhaps the most overlooked but very important for your skin. We often do not store them in hygienic or dry places which actually leads to the multiplication of bacteria that can transfer from your hand to your face.
This in turn leads to clogged pores, breakouts and other skin conditions. So, give your products a good clean from time to time. I really hope you make a conscious effort to keep a check on these everyday habits Until next time stay tuned stay Glamrs.
