✨ANTI-AGING UPDATE | OPTIMIZING SKIN’S AGING PROCESS✨
thank you so much for joining me here today i’m finally sitting down to do my second anti-aging update i can’t remember when i did my first one but my second update was just last april so that was april 2019 i was hoping to do i was maybe going to do the update six months later and then i thought well no probably a year makes more sense and then of course this last april we were all in lockdown because of the pandemic and i just wasn’t filming that much then so i’m a little late on doing this update i have i keep promising it and i’m finally doing it so one thing that i wanted to mention is i went back and watched that video to make sure i’m covering all my bases here that i’m not leaving anything out that i started trying and maybe did continue to use or have discontinued using which there are a couple of those things um and of course the big thing is the hair situation that uh i’ll show you the picture here the thumbnail from my my last video on anti-aging and um yeah so now i am letting my gray hair uh come in so of course in an anti-aging video you know some might think that gray hairs letting your silver shine is gonna make you look older uh it probably does to the outside world i may be you know appear older um but you know i i’ve just let go of all that i don’t really care what other people think and if they’re liking it because i actually am really liking it and i don’t want this to be a video about my gray hair i really want it to be about skincare but i just wanted to say that i noticed when i was watching that video that my roots were just so dark and you could see the real like the darkness there uh and then kind of like the lighter hair and it just um there was sort of this disconnect happening when i was watching that video even though you know i thought my hair looked good now i feel like this is just more me it just feels more authentic and i can appreciate watching those old videos and what my hair was doing at that time when i was uh coloring my roots and i don’t want to judge you know my past self but i really do feel like this just feels more authentic to me and in a way helps me just feel more vibrant actually and almost ironically feel more young that i’m not combating these roots that are coming in it’s just sort of a natural process so i wanted to put that out there because it is kind of a part of my anti-aging update and feeling uh younger i guess i would say because i like i said i’m not trying to fight the aging process there are two other things i want to say before i jump into the skin care portion of this is that like i said in my last video i know that anti-aging is a problematic term and i am not anti-aging in any way as i said in that other video i want to get older i want to experience life you know for another 40 years or whatever so i want to get older i’m not anti-aging i just don’t really like the alternatives that people are throwing around haven’t really just like grabbed me or resonated with me i guess well aging might be one of those so anti-aging slash well aging and then the other thing i wanted to point out is that all of this skin care is really just like optimizing i was just listening to a podcast or re-listening to a podcast that i’m going to mention later on in this video but there are just really foundational things that one should do to really be healthy and let your skin glow and of course that’s going to start with diet having a healthy well-rounded diet eating fruits and vegetables that have lots of antioxidants and fiber and all those good nutrients for you vitamins and minerals exercise hydration and sleeping well and those four things really in my mind i agree with what these podcasters were saying in terms of being the foundation for uh for healthy skin and then all these other skincare treatments and products are just optimizing hopefully that good baseline of healthy skin so let’s go ahead and move into sort of comparing what i was using then and if i’m still using them now so in that video the first thing i talked about was vitamin c and i i still am using vitamin c products i stand by vitamin c being a really excellent active uh for helping you maintain kind of that like youthful dewy glow so it’s gonna brighten even out skin tone and it can really help reduce melasma or you know sun spots age spots any kind of hyperpigmentation you might have so in that video i was using the blasoma phyto brightening serum and the live botanical let’s see first light brightening oil i am no longer using the blasoma i just that was sent to me in pr i was using it at the time i enjoyed it uh for probably like the first half the bottle but ultimately i didn’t really notice any big difference in my skin so i just stopped using it and it’s not a product i would purchase myself in the future i am however still using the live botanical first light brightening oil you’ve heard me talk about this many times on my channel it is one of my favorite oils and this has the tetrahexel decal ascorbate so that is also known as thd it also has ceramides in it and just beautiful plant oil so this is one that i have continued to use and will always love to have in my skincare routine another vitamin c product that i am testing out this is the first time i’ve ever purchased this was the timeless skincare 20 vitamin c and ferulic acid vitamin e and this is kind of like a knockoff of the skinceuticals i think it’s skinceuticals is the name of the company that started using elliscorbic with ferulic acid it’s really expensive i didn’t want to purchase it and spend over a hundred dollars on it so i opted for the timeless instead this is not a green beauty product so you’re going to want to check the ingredient list to make sure that it’s in line with you know the types of ingredients that you like to use i really do like this it’s a great serum that plays well under other you know moisturizers sunscreen i probably reach for this maybe two or three times a week i really like to use it under sunscreen when i’m going to be outdoors you know exercising or i might be outside for quite a while and then i mentioned this product actually in my last video of new products that i’m using this is the good molecules niacinamide brightening toner and i forgot to mention that this actually has vitamin c in it now this has ethyl ascorbic acid which is different than l ascorbic acid i don’t know a whole lot about the differences and i actually have to be honest that i didn’t research you know how the ethyl ascorbic acid is made i’m okay with using this product i think i mentioned in my last video that i use it maybe three to four times a week and of course it’s a toner so i use it under other products and you know it soaks in right away it has not caused me any issues with pilling or you know not working well with other products so i do really enjoy this a lot and then of course it’s got the niacinamide that’s going to help with brightening and evening skin tone also being anti-inflammatory and then i think there’s also licorice in here which is a great ingredient for brightening as well so these are the three vitamin c products that i have i would say you know most enjoyable most pleasurable most in line with sort of my green beauty ethos is obviously the lymph botanical but again i really am enjoying the good molecules and then the timeless i’ll put all these products down below of course so that you can check out the ingredient decks yourself because in this video i’m not really going to go in depth into individual ingredients or ingredient lists because i just want to have it be more in general you know what i’m using right now for anti-aging so the next thing that i talked about in that previous video was my use of retinoids which i am still using i wanted to tackle this little wrinkle here that i have that is still there and just fine lines and maybe not so fine lines medium to big wrinkles that are occurring on my forehead and so the big thing that i mentioned in that video was starting to use the tretinoin cream so this is a prescription strength retinoid and it is retinoic acid so prescription strength this is the 0.
1 now i actually have not been using this on the regular so i’ve had it over a year now and i i don’t know i would say i have about half of it left i was pretty diligent using it at the beginning of when i first got it back in april i think i had been using or april 2019 i should say i think i’d been using it for about two weeks when i started filming and then i just kind of tapered off because i really just enjoy using these other products more than i’m going to mention and i didn’t really notice that big of a difference between this and the other products and part of that might be because i would usually use this either on top of or mixed in with an emulsion type product like the heart of gold sweet briar nectar would be a perfect example or the ambient moisture liquid from live botanical so i never put it on bare skin which i do think also helps with the uh irritation like i never got irritation or peeling when i would use this so i don’t know if putting it on top of other products uh decrease the efficacy i’ve been told that it doesn’t it just makes it penetrate slower so you’re not going to have as much irritation but whatever the reason i just i you know and maybe intuitively or whatever i just haven’t been as drawn to using the prescription strength retinoic acid what i have been using and really really loving is the sunday riley a plus high dose retinoid serum now i have gone through many many samples of this i also got the smaller size bottle so this time i got the large bottle because i really love this i’m not going to go into textures of most of these products but just so that you can see it’s got like a really silky light lotiony texture and it’s just a pleasure to use i don’t know what it is about this it’s just you know it probably is i think there are silicones in here so i hardly i don’t think anything in my skincare has silicones in it or if they do it’s very few or very rare uh so that’s probably why i feel like this feels so good is because there is still i think there’s dimethicone in there so it just creates this beautiful slip feels so good putting it on this is the most reached for retinoid product in my collection and i don’t know i’m gonna take a stab at maybe three to four times a week that i end up using this i also really like the drunk elephant a passionate retinol cream now i am not a big drunk elephant fan i got a sample of this and then just ended up really liking it so this is the only drunk elephant product that i still have and would possibly repurchase i don’t feel like i need to though because i think i would just keep using the sunday riley but why i do like this one and you’ll see this is thicker and you’ll see that it’s got that yellowish orange color it’s thicker so you’ll see it does not soak in as quickly as the sunday riley because it’s thicker you can kind of spot treat a little bit easier and it just stays where you put it whereas with the sunday riley that’s kind of more of an overall experience where i just like to rub it in my hands put it all over it’s a little bit too runny to spot treat here on my upper lip like sometimes it migrates down onto my actual lip and i only want it to be on the skin above my lip so that’s why i really like to use this i think i’m going to have this for quite a bit longer because there still is a pretty good amount of product in here and since i’m really only using it first for spot treatment i think this will last for a while so i will let you know if i decide to purchase this in the future or if i feel like the sunday riley would suffice for that type of a product oh and then just to let you know this has the hydroxy pina colon i think is what it is and then this is i think it’s 0.
1 retinol which is actually pretty high percentage of retinol so you don’t want to just dive into these if you’ve never used any kind of a retinoid product you want to take it really slow so start low and go slow when you’re working with these types of products one product that i still really really love is the jordan samuel atoll with retinol so this is their treatment oil this is jordan’s treatment oil and let me just jump back here for a second because i forgot to talk about the retinol products that i was using before so that was the i’ve used the arcona youth serum which i do actually still really like but i don’t have it with me right now i may or may not repurchase that again in the future but like i said i’m pretty happy with the sunday riley as far as a you know over-the-counter you know beauty skincare type product i also talked about the pestle and mortar superstar as well as this one the jordan samuel retinol treatment oil and between those two i think that the jordan samuel it is obviously the better buy because the pestle and mortar is really expensive now the the difference between the two is that the pestle and mortar does have the hpr in it whereas the jordan samuel has the retinol in it so if you really want to try the hpr in an oil format i do recommend the pestilent mortar but as far as efficacy i found that both of them really did work the same for me and i just really love jordan samuel i love everything that he’s about and so i would actually recommend this one over the pestle and mortar especially if you’re new to this type of a product with retinol in it or retinoid in it and you want something really gentle with beautiful oils i do still highly recommend this and then just a quick shout out to the votery intense night oil this has the retinoid in it i can’t remember which one if it’s retinol or if it’s the hpr i’m sorry i just i can’t remember exactly which one is in here i haven’t been using this for very long this came in the august beauty box from the box walla but so far i’ve really been enjoying using it so i have been integrating that into my skincare as well and then i also want to give a little nod to boccuccio i as i’ve mentioned in the past i’ve been a little bit on the fence about boccuccio because of you know the possibility that it’s endangered i don’t know if technically it is or isn’t there’s a bit of a debate and controversy i would say about that but one thing is is that it’s definitely wild harvested so it is not cultivated so that to me right there is kind of an issue uh with such high demand for boccuccio right now practically every line has something with boccuccio in it now so it just concerns me that it is a medicinal plant not only for your skin but internally for many uh chronic conditions that is used in india so i hate to you know put this plant at risk when it’s been used in india for i don’t know probably hundreds or thousands of years to treat uh chronic conditions diseases ailments so i’m not going to completely ban boccuccio from my skin care but i’m more inclined to use other things but i will say that the earthwise beauty black locust firming concentrate has bacochiol in it and this is a beautiful product so if you are looking for something with bokutiel i definitely recommend this i’ve talked about this before i don’t know if that got in focus there so let’s try it again um i have talked about this before i really enjoy it i love the texture it kind of you know it’s an oil but it soaks in right away so you can use it day or night and then the other thing that i am really really liking is moth bean extract so that is a nice alternative i would say to boccuccio um and just to say real quickly that bacochial and moth bean are being touted as botanical retinols or retinol alternatives and to be clear they are not related to vitamin a or the retinol family the retinoid family at all but people say that it’s a botanical alternative because it has similar effects in terms of you know plumping up the skin increasing collagen decreasing fine lines having brightening properties and i i do think it is true i really do get good results when i use boccuccio so i do really like boccuccio a lot i think it’s a great effective ingredient but i am leaning more towards using uh moth bean extract and a really good example of that is this lil fox dewy bean dream and i did mention this in my previous video that i just did and i really really like it i when i filmed that other video i hadn’t used this during the day uh but now that i’ve ran out of my lip botanical i think it’s the exfoliating illuminating serum or the illuminating exfoliating serum uh in that product she also has moth bean extract in there but i’m out of that and that’s the one i kind of preferred to use during the day but i have been mixing this with again the emulsion type serums that i love i put two pumps of this mixed with two pumps of the live botanical ambient moisture liquid mix them together my palm pat it on my skin i have done that for the last two mornings and wow i mean so beautiful it’s just like a great texture they blend well together and then my skin is just like super glowy if anything maybe too glowy and i’ve had to kind of like tamp it down just a little bit but i really love that combination i really love this product so where i’m at right now with the whole retinoid situation is i’m not really using this very much i can’t even remember the last time i used it to be honest so this is kind of gone by the wayside as far as prescription strength goes and really the sunday riley i would say is the primary retinoid that i’m using uh the drunk elephant is kind of a little adjunct there for spot treatment and then i really have been loving uh using moth bean extract products with moth bean extract and then also the boku chiyo products as well alright so moving on to the next type of product that i use for my well aging anti-aging skincare routine is sunscreen and i’d like to go back to what i said at the first part of this video where you know having a good foundation of diet exercise sleep hydration is crucial for you know healthy skin i would say that spf definitely goes in that foundational basket more so than optimizing because i really do think that spf is just so incredible not only for preventing skin cancer but also to help prevent for me specifically melasma and then as i mentioned in the other video that i did my anti-aging update the first one was that there have been studies to show that not only does it help prevent you know melasma skin cancer when you have sunscreen on it also gives your skin a break to regenerate during the day so it’s pretty powerful stuff now i having said that it’s incredibly important to me and i want to say this is for me and also my skin tone which is olive i don’t really burn very easily but i do like to get sun on my skin i would say i strive for about a half an hour every day sometimes when i go for a walk i will always have sunscreen on my face i always put sunscreen on my forearms because i don’t want these spots to get any darker but a lot of times i leave my legs bare and my upper arms bare so i can get that vitamin d synthesis because there have been studies to show that getting sunlight helps decrease other types of cancers so anyway that was kind of a little like diversion that i took there but i do want to say i’m a religious sunscreen user on my face but i do at times or i should say try for 20 to 30 minutes especially in the summertime to get sun on my skin because i have had chronically low vitamin d living here in the pacific northwest and i finally have it in a normal range i just got those lab results actually two days ago that my vitamin d is in the normal range so i am ecstatic i don’t even know ever since i’ve been getting my vitamin d tested i’ve never had it in the normal range okay so enough about that let me tell you about the sunscreens that i am using and loving but actually before we get to that i do want to mention there is one sunscreen product that i don’t have with me here today but i still i love it i would purchase it again in a heartbeat and that is the juice beauty mineral moisturizer and i get the one in sheer and i think that is spf 30 so one of the reasons why i didn’t repurchase it is because i’m trying to go for more like in the 50 spf range for my face but i again i would definitely get the juice beauty one in a heartbeat it’s well priced it’s easy to get like on pharmica whole foods those kinds of places so i don’t have it with me today but i still highly highly recommend it for my face what i tend to reach for the most actually just on a day-to-day basis is the combination of the josie marin spf 47 and actually i just realized that i grabbed my tinted one which i actually do use and i do really like now that i have more of a tan when my skin was more like pasty and pale in the middle of the winter time this red a little too orange but now this is you know it’s just fine but what i like to use actually is the untinted of the josie moran mixed with the my shell sunshield liquid which is spf 50.
i know that there’s kind of like mixed reviews for this but this works really well on my skin and it blends really well with the josie marin it’s 47 spf untinted and i also like to mix it with the malou protecting day cream this is spf 30 so then obviously if i do about half of this and half of this that’s going to up the spf to about 40.
and then the other sunscreen that i really love to use which is a lovely product that you can just use on its own when i use this one i don’t really need a whole lot of other products this is the josh rosebrook nutrient day cream in tinted and this is spf 30.
so pretty much using the same things that i have been using i don’t know i would say for the last two or three years or so one thing i don’t have here with me are the bobbo botanics it’s either baba botanics or bubble botanicals their sunscreen sticks are phenomenal i have so many of them around my house i have them in my bathroom in my tennis bag in my tote bag in the car i really love the tinted one and that works really really well for right above my lip if i want to like spot treat over here to get really good coverage on a little sunspot that i’ve got right here and i also use it on my forearms which also because it’s tinted it helps these just kind of blend into my regular like tan skin speaking of my forearms this is a good segue to another product that i talked about that i was newly using at that time and that was the hydroquinone i think it was four percent or point four percent i can’t remember what it was i think it’s four percent that i got that as a prescription from my dermatologist to help decrease the darkness of these sunspots and that is something i have completely stopped using i think i used it for about a month pretty regularly religiously and i you know what i really first of all i wasn’t really noticing that big of a difference and second of all there was something inside me always that wasn’t super comfortable using it so since i just kind of have that like i was on the fence not feeling great about it combined with the fact that i didn’t notice that big of a change i just decided to stop using it i don’t even know if i threw it away or if i still have it i’m not really sure but i’m definitely not using that anymore and i don’t really foresee myself doing you know giving it a try again i would say the big change for me is that i’m just living with them so here are my sunspots here and here they’re nothing terrible um you know if i’m gonna sit there and stare at them yes they do start to bother me but i think in my last video i said that they were driving me crazy and bonkers which is definitely the truth at that time but i’ve kind of made peace with them they don’t really bother me that much anymore and like i said when i’ve got that babo botanics tinted sunscreen stick on top of it it just i can hardly see them so that’s where i’m at with these spots and they are what they are i don’t really see myself getting laser treatment for them either because it would just be i don’t know there’s just so many of them it’d be hard to do to be quite honest so i’ve let it go they don’t really bother me anymore like i said if i’m gonna start staring at them and thinking about them then yeah i’d probably be like oh god these i wish i didn’t have these but you know it’s just a part of what my skin is so i’m just living with it so that’s the update on the hydroquinone not using it anymore i want to talk about botox real quick because in my previous video i did mention botox and kind of like well i would never rule it out maybe i would get it maybe not so i just wanted to give you the update on my thoughts about botox because i did listen to a podcast not too long after i did that video so this was maybe about a year ago and this is from the whole view so whole as in w-h-o-l-e so the whole view and they do a lot of like paleo-type uh podcasts you know just like wellness in general um but one of the women i think her name is sarah ballentine she has a phd and i don’t know some kind of science i can’t remember exactly but she does amazing research there it’s pretty impressive and i listened to their podcast that was devoted specifically to botox and it really made me rethink even the you know notion of getting it so right now i’m not going to be getting botox and let me just kind of give you a quick overview of the podcast but i really do recommend listening to it on your own if anything i say here piques your interest or makes you think twice about botox just go and listen to their podcast so sarah did a deep dive into the research on botox and the main thing that really struck me is that the long-term research on botox is actually really really lacking there are not very many studies that talk about the long-term effects of botox one thing that is concerning is you know in terms of side effects that there is that possibility of the diffusion of the botox into the adjacent area that wasn’t supposed to be treated and as you might know botox is a neurotoxin that prevents the release of acetylcholine and therefore paralyzes your muscle by relaxing it so obviously if you want to relax some you know muscles here so that you don’t have those fine lines or wrinkles in your forehead it can migrate down actually and cause other parts of your face to relax that you were not wanting that to have happen and that actually was kind of concerning for me because even though it would be considered a side effect and it would go away after the botox wore off or presumably it would uh i had a personal experience with having my left eye droop after surgery i had shoulder surgery on my left shoulder in october of my god was it 2019 i think one of the side effects that i had from the regional block was i got horner’s syndrome which just means that basically my eyelid drooped and it was like halfway down my eyeball it only lasted for like three days but i have to tell you it caused me so much anxiety that i i never want that to happen again like i just i didn’t know that that was a side effect possibly of the regional block and when i experienced it it was really really stressful and like i said it only lasted for a few days so if i were to have something like that happen from botox and it wasn’t going to wear off for three months i mean just thinking about that gives me so much anxiety so that in and of itself is enough reason for me not to want to have botox and i guess i knew that that was a side effect possibility and i’m sure it’s probably really rare but i just do not want to mess around with that at all and then moving to the long-term studies what has been shown is that the adverse effects actually start to ramp up or you have a risk of an adverse effect the more times you use botox and it sounds like at around the 10th or 11th injection so that’s going to be probably after about three to four years of using botox that is when you’re at an increased risk for these adverse reactions which can be fatigue headache neck pain double vision the more adverse reactions are going to be difficulty speaking and swallowing and again this is all information that i got from the podcast i have to be honest i’ve never done my own personal research into these studies but it has given me enough pause but i don’t really need to do botox but i just want to add that the ladies on the podcast when they did their research they also found that there were some labs that were able to produce um the fact that the is it the botulinum i think it’s called botulinum toxin can actually travel up the neuron and into the next neuron and then be secreted outside of the cell and can get taken up by the next neuron so there is the possibility of the neurotoxin spreading and then it can also travel through our nerves systemically and so again that can affect your inflammatory process and it can also possibly affect the central nervous system and then what’s really compelling is there have been i think they said six to eight studies maybe it was eight studies that have looked at the effect of botox on emotional health so it has the ability to blunt your emotional response and experiences so how i understand it is that if you are in a conversation with somebody and the person that you’re talking to is giving subtle cues through their face and their facial expressions but very subtle that they’re going through a hard time you know having challenges are emotionally distraught what happens is like let’s say you the you’re talking to that person you start to mirror those really subtle emotional cues in your facial expression and then those facial responses that you’re having actually send feedback to your brain to have this emotional response so that you’re going to be empathetic with the person that you’re talking to but apparently if you’re not able to mirror those very subtle emotional responses that are happening in your friend’s face or the person that you’re talking to you’re unable to do that because you’re because if you’ve had botox your muscles are relaxed so you’re not able to make those small little you know subtle emotional cues that you’re mirroring in the person across from you so you’re not going to get that feedback to then have that emotional empathetic response so for me i found that really troubling and i i consider myself an empathetic person a sensitive person and i would not want to blunt any kind of ability that i have to connect emotionally with another human being and looking at my notes real quick here it’s eight to ten studies i said six to eight but it’s actually eight to ten studies have shown this blunting of the emotional response in people who have had botox now having said that i really don’t want to sound you know judgmental if you’ve done botox you continue to do botox and you feel good and comfortable about it then that’s great uh for me listening to this podcast was really eye-opening and made me definitely think twice about if i would want to have botox and right now where i stand i don’t foresee having botox any time in the future but you know again um never say never but where i’m at right now is i’m not comfortable with doing botox for all of these reasons so i just want to mention again that this is just a really cursory overview of the in-depth podcast that really took a look at a lot of research done on botox so again if you are interested in that definitely take a listen and i will link that below so then the final update is to let you guys know about the zip so that is one of those micro current devices this is what it looks like and i don’t think i had received it yet when i filmed my last video so i had really nothing to say about it but now i have it and i do have things to say about it uh what i don’t think it does super well for me is the lifting thing so like the lymph the lifting and the lymph drainage i really don’t notice that big of a difference between using this and then using a gua saw tool which i’m getting out right now i have this one from la cos that they sent me i really really love this gua saw tool it’s beautiful it feels great but i’ll talk about that a little bit more in a second let’s talk about the zip after i use this i do notice some difference in the lifting but it’s not anything earth shattering or crazy amazing when i do my gua saw routine and i really take my time with it i notice pretty much the same results and in fact i would say that with these tools i’m able to do a better job of de-puffing my eyes so i’ll go like this you know 10 times with a little massage and then with this end here i’ll go like this that’s what i do and then i will do this as well like i said when it comes to the zip versus gua saw my preference is just going to be the guasa because first of all it’s just more pleasurable to use i like it that it’s a little bit more meditative and it does a better job like i said under my eyes and above my eyes on the lifting which is pretty impressive so i was actually thinking about maybe selling this or gifting it to somebody but i did decide one time when my melasma was a little bit out of control to use this because they do have a hyperpigmentation setting and that is where this is the most impressive so what i’ve done probably about three or four times when i’ve either been in the sun too much didn’t use my sunscreen and i noticed my freckle mustache really starting to be more pronounced or i don’t know just more visible is i will do the hyperpigmentation setting two minutes just specifically on my upper lip up here maybe sometimes over here too but this one like i said doesn’t really bother me that much so i’ll really focus on the hyperpigmentation hit it kind of hard with the retinols uh either the prescription one which i did use in the past i don’t know maybe it was six months ago when i really felt like i needed to tackle it uh or i will place the uh the drunk elephant specifically where the hyperpigmentation is so using the zip on their hyperpigmentation setting and then in combination with the retinol right after it has been really fantastic like almost overnight i will see a change or i guess i should say a reduction in the darkness of my freckle mustache so i’m going to hang on to the zip a little bit longer not for the reason why i thought it was going to be not for the lifting or trying to take down my eye puffiness which i i’ll keep saying i think the gua saw for me is better for that but i am going to hang on to this for the hyperpigmentation which i guess does fall into the category of you know anti-aging or sort of that optimizing the wellness of your skin as you get older i was just trying to think if there was anything else i wanted to say before i wrap up here and there is uh one concern that i had about the zip actually i should say it was more about the new face when i was doing research between the zip and the new face i know that people had mentioned that the new face actually could trigger migraines i have to tell you that the zip i think has triggered migraines for me in the past so i am really reluctant hardly ever use it anymore on the highest setting uh around my forehead here because if i am on the edge of getting a migraine this will actually cause me to get off the fence and get go on to the side of getting a migraine so i really don’t obviously i really don’t want that to happen because migraines are awful so i tend to if i am going to use it for any kind of lifting i do use it on the lowest setting and really just down here maybe a little bit under my eyes but i stay away from the highest setting on my forehead so for those of you who do get migraines i would use this with caution maybe think twice about getting it because had i known that the zip would cause that i might not have gotten it and i don’t know if i would have spent i can’t i did get it on a discount actually so i got a really good deal on this but i don’t know if i would have spent the money if i knew i was just going to be using it on hyperpigmentation and on my lower portion of my face i’m glad that i have it i’m probably going to keep it like i said for that purpose but it is important to know that these micro current devices for some people myself included can trigger a migraine so i just wanted to let you all know that as well so now i do think i am done with talking about what i’m using to optimize the aging process for myself i do want to put it out there that once again i am not a dermatologist i’m not an esthetician i’m not a professional in skincare at all i’m just an avid fan of skin care so before you jump into something new of course you’re going to want to do patch tests or check in with your dermatologist especially if you have any kind of you know skin care issue or concern and you’re not too sure if a retinoid will be good for you definitely check in with a professional before you you know overhaul your skincare routine and then i also want to say that with the retinol retinoid use you obviously want to be using spf so you want to use spf in your skincare every day anyway but if you are using retinoids please be really diligent about using your spf because the last thing you want to do is get sunburns and make your skin concerns actually worse because those retinoids can make your skin photosensitive i do also want to tack on real quick i guess i wasn’t done that i also do really like to use lactic acid i would also put that in my optimization of you know the aging process of my skin i would throw that in there as well i have had issues with glycolic acid but interestingly the dewy bean dream has glycolic acid in it but i think there’s enough sort of like beautiful oils in there that buffer the irritating aspects that glycolic acid can have but i really love lactic acid not only does it help you know with that exfoliation it’s very gentle on the exfoliation but it also hydrates your skin so just to add that in there real quick and the live botanical illuminating exfoliating serum does have lactic acid in it as well as the moth bean extract so i think that is a beautiful product to use uh no matter what age you are but if you are looking for that sort of you know anti-aging type product i highly recommend the live botanical as well but i don’t have it with me because i am out of it and i need to get into i think i really have said all i need to say about these products and what i’m using now for my optimizing the aging process on my skin but i guess that’s sort of like my new catchphrase but it’s a little long so i don’t think that’s going to catch up if you do have any questions about any of these products or the ingredients that they contain do not hesitate to ask down below that’s what we’re here for uh to learn from each other and give each other information about products that we’re using so on that note if you do have a product you know vitamin c product or a retinoid product a sunscreen that you particularly love or anything that you’re using to optimize the health of your skin no matter what age you are definitely let us know below so that’ll do it for today thank you all so much for watching and i will see you in the next one bye you
